Ange Hanem Mosque
(Muharram Bey Mosque)
This mosque was built by Ms Angie Hanem, wife of Said Pasha, and then rebuilt and renovated by Jishm Aft Hanem, Khedive Ismael Pasha Wife in 1869.
The mosque takes a rectangular shape surrounded by an iron fence on the north and west side of the north side and a simple corridor leads to the entrance to the prayer house. The mosque has a second entrance on the west side of the prayer house and includes three corridors and four wings; the largest is the middle porch that connects the galleries.
In the mosque there is a small entrance that leads to the women's chapel and the mosque is characterized by the presence of four monumental paintings showing the date of installation and renovation of the mosque and the book attached and the mosque is listed in the Islamic and Coptic Monuments by Resolution # 415 of 2008.
