Nabi Daniel Street is one of the oldest and longest historic streets of Alexandria and its history dates back to the building of the city itself, where the street extends from the rally station to the City Railway Station and was known in Greek times as " Cardo de Comnas ».
When Alexander the Great ordered the construction of Alexandria, it was built in accordance with the dive pattern, meaning the grid or chessboard, as the city was divided into two main streets, one longitudinal and the other transverse. They extend from the north of the city to the south, where the moon gate is the "north gate" and the sun gate is the "south gate".
The street was named after the prophet Daniel and is one of the prophets. It may be dated to the 6th century BC.
Al-Nabi Daniel-Prophet Daniel Street brings together the three religions as it begins the Prophet Daniel Mosque, an Iraqi scientist who came from Mosul to Alexandria in the 2nd century, his name is Ma'amouli Moamel and is one of the Shafi Safi Shakes. The other side of the road is the Church of St. Mark, which is the oldest church in Egypt and Africa, built by St. Mark the Apostle in the 1st century AD.
Many stories and rumors were associated with Prophet Daniel's Street, due to the presence of many people's disappearances and the Land of Landing. On the road, the girls go out and swallow, but the truth is because there are large tunnels and basements from the Roman era.
These tunnels and catacombs are interconnected and extend along the road to the sea, which was designed to escape the emperor in the event of sudden revolutions by the people of Alexandria. Some believe that Alexander the Great left a curse there so that no one could learn his secrets.
The street is considered one of the most important roads in Alexandria as it is a popular destination for science students, researchers and intellectuals in Alexandria who buy used books from book sellers on both sides of the street, starting from the dim to Fouad Street, or from the existing libraries there, or the other intersection of Fouad Street to Ramli Street to shopping malls for sale of electrical and electronic equipment, There are also some important buildings, such as the French Cultural Center and the Al-Ahram newspaper building.
