The Shatby area
The Shatby area extends from Selsela Square in front of the Library of Alexandria today - next to what is known as the Head of Loch in the Ptolemaic era, which is the eastern part of the Royal Neighborhood; therefore it was expected to find ruins of the royal palaces or temples. In this area, when the Hellenic Institute began operating in this area in 1998, fragments were found around the chain language from the east, possibly the remains of the temple of Isis or the palace of Queen Cleopatra VII.
The mission also revealed ceramic remains, mainly for amphorae vessels, dating from the late Roman period.
